Do you know Mike Wilson’s book “The Difference Between God and Larry Ellison: *God Doesn’t Think He’s Larry Ellison”? I don’t. I know this joke and I was surprised to find out that this is not just a joke from the social media. I like the point of this headline. I am in the same situation withmy love. My passion toward champagne and specially Veuve Clicquot. I think that Barbe Nicole
Ponsardin Veuve Clicquot (https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbe-Nicole_Clicquot-Ponsardin_Veuve_Clicquotis my mentor and my friend. She does not know it. Because she passed her way in 1866. ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madame_Clicquot_Ponsardin) I am old, but not so old.
Where the story started?
We considered champagne to be “Sovetskoje šampanskoje”. This bubbly drink had nothing to do with champagne. Nevertheless, it was corked like champagne, it was named champagne, it was available in brut, semi sweet and sweet mode.
I remember my first night with bubbly wine. I was in the lower level not to be criminal when drinking. Me and my not-yet-boyfriend had a bet. What was the reason, I do not remember. Thing is that I won and the prize was a bottle of bubbly wine. I got it on our way to the New Year ball on the street. Open it, I said. – No, we cannot drink in the street, he answered. Next to us, there was a huge building waste container, big as a small house. I was top level athlete and it was piece of cake to jump in. Into this empty container. Now I am not in the street, I said. He got in, we opened this bottle, we did not have any glasses, we tried to drink something bubbling and sweet directly from the bottle. And later on we wanted to get out from this container. Guess how easy it was? Or was it mission impossible?
A handsome boy, not-yet-my-boyfriend did not get the status of my boyfriend. And about bubbly wine my decision was. Newer again!
When it was not criminal to build up the private company, I did it. I created my company “Past and Partners PR”. Done this we sat in a dinner table with my lawyer. He gave me a bottle La Grande Dame Rosé. I don’t remember the vintage. I remember this taste. And the words he said: “You can be as sparkling as Barbe Nicole Ponsardin Veuve Cliquot was. Grande Dame. You can be Madame Rosé.”
I must say that this has not been an easy task to be a business woman. To run your own company. As Estonian media describes me: the mother of Estonian PR. I have got some degrees, won some prizes, been some amount of cases a mentor for younger business people. Veuve Clicquot has been always number one as an role model of innovative and somehow merry business woman with all her tricks and tips.
This is, how it started. So I got this nickname, Madame Rosé. And fell in love. With champagne. Then I started my journey with Veuve Clicquot. She was first international business women. Everybody can read about her business developments in many books. Like Elvire De Brissac “Imaginary Journey Around Barbe Nicole Ponsardin Veuve Clicquot” and many more.
An award was launched that was named after Veuve Cliquot 1972, for female owners or manager for companies. This award does not exist in Estonia yet, you can check it in Serbia https://we.tl/Uo8MTDK14O
